Social Payments – Pay With a Tweet

One of my more recent projects has been a rework of BeatsBrainwaves.com - a site that primarily was built to promote my Beats Brainwave Entrainment app.

One offer that the site makes, in an attempt to lure visitors is a free set of binaural beats mp3′s.  By free, I mean zero dollars, but I do require an action  for the customer to take…

In order for the potential binaural beats customer to grab the “free” mp3 set, I require the person to first tweet or make a Facebook post about it.  The posts, of course, are pre written and include a link back to the site.

To be frank, since the site went up, I have yet to see my main source of traffic (organic search engine traffic) really start to take off, but there have been a couple of downloads of the free binaural beats. And for each download, I’ve been notified of a tweet that was made about my site.  And in one case, that tweet turned into a couple of tweets and a bit of traffic.

Yay, free advertising!!!

There are a few different social payment gateways out there and I’ve seen some sites roll their own. The one I’ve decided to use is Transact Socially.

Transact Socially is super easy to use, is free, and has some tracking capabilities as well.

Obviously, selling every bit of your content for a social payment wouldn’t be viable, if your intention is to somehow make some cash with your content. But for digital items that can be leveraged to pull in potential buyers for items of higher value, I think this concept of social payments could be Gold.

You can leave a response, or trackback from your own site.
